I travel a lot.
Sometimes it’s for work, but I am lucky and travel often for pleasure as well. Sometimes the planes are really small with seats for only 12, others are massive, like moving hotels. One thing remains the same, I file past the posh seats at the front of the plane, to take my spot with the rest of the people in the regular section of the plane … that is until now.
I’m going on a holiday this weekend, just to visit that guy (remember him … I might almost be okay with boy, boyfr, boyfrie actually nevermind). Anyway, he had to do some work and thought it would be fun if I joined him over the weekend. So he set me up with a flight. And for the first time in my life, the words business class appeared on my boarding pass… also on the menu they give you at boarding.
Let me explain what first class is like:
– You get a hot towel before breakfast … it’s a towel so hot that you have to pass it from hand to hand before using it.
– You select your meal from a menu, no flight attendant saying, do you want chicken or fish.
– Food comes on dish, like real ones, made of something besides plastic
– You get cutlery and no I didn’t take the spoon (like I used to on commercial flights … one per airline).
– Tea came in a real mug.
– They have snacks, I was disappointed I wasn’t more hungry.
– And leg room. I am not a small person and I could nearly completely stretch out.
Going back to the “normal” way to travel will be difficult. Although I think it will make me appreciate the greatness of business class that much more.
